AMSN is the national professional organization of adult health (Med-Surg) nurses. The primary purpose of AMSN is to improve the professional experience of the adult health nurse, with a resulting improvement in patient care. AMSN promotes the highest standards of practice and fosters excellence in adult health nursing. AMSN also provides a positive opportunity for nurses to network and share friendships as well as professional interests and ideas. (www.amsn.org) When you join AMSN, doors will open for you both professionally and personally.
The Greater Portland Area Chapter is the local chapter for the Portland area and SW Washington and the only chapter in the Pacific Northwest. It was chartered in October 2004. If you are a member of AMSN, you are automatically a member of our chapter.
Meetings are held to plan our annual conference and elect new officers.
If you are a current member, you will receive email notification of all scheduled activities. If you are not a member but would like to receive information on our activities, please contact us.
Please also send us your thoughts on what YOU would like to be involved in or be offered by your local chapter of AMSN.
AMSN has an annual national conference each fall. This is an opportunity to meet Med-Surg nurses from across the county and attend some excellent learning sessions on Med-Surg topics.
